Winter Break Schedule


The North Campus Library will be closed for winter break starting on Saturday, December 20, 2008, through Monday, January 5, 2009.


The library will reopen on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, and will resume regular library hours:


Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m.-10:00 p.m.

Friday 7:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Miami International Book Fair... 25 Years!

The Miami International Book Fair is celebrating its 25th year this season!

Hosted by Miami Dade College, the Book Fair will be held from November 9th through the 16th, closing with the popular Street Fair from November 14th through the 16th.

Visitors can attend discussions by recently published authors from the local to global literary world; attend family friendly events at the Children's Alley; get in touch with your inner book historian at the Antiquarian Annex; experience live literary works at the Write Out Loud Cafe, hosted by the Florida Center for the Literary Arts; and much more.

Get Out the Vote



This November 4th, voters will have the opportunity to vote for Amendment 8. This amendment will allow for referendums to be placed on future ballots, if citizens so desire, permitting decisions to be made supporting Florida's 28 community colleges, including our very own MDC.

Back to School


Welcome to the Fall 2008 semester!

Just a friendly reminder that the MDC North Campus Library is here for MDC students and faculty, and offers many services to help you with your information needs:


  • Librarians available to assist with research

  • Print resources - books, magazines, newspapers, professional journals

  • Online resources - electronic databases and ebooks

  • Audio books on CD and cassette tape

  • Computers with Internet access

  • Print, copy, and fax capabilities

  • Study areas

  • New! Music CDs

Students may check out 5 books in each subject area and a total of 15 books at one time. These may be taken home for up to 3 weeks.


Electronic databases and ebooks are available to students from any computer with Internet access. Research from home using these useful tools that provide full-text articles and books.
